Chinese Medicine For Hair Loss

Chinese medicine consists of the following healing techniques: herbology, acupuncture, and acupressure. These modes of healing can be rooted back in the ancient Chinese system of treating diseases. Right now, a lot of medical practitioners are claiming that these healing techniques have some legitimate scientific basis to it. Incidentally, hair loss is just one minor problem that Chinese medicine can easily address.

There are different concoctions, herbs, and procedures to revert hair loss in a person. The traditional Chinese way of healing comprises the use of pressure points, chi, and energy flow into the body. One good medicine for hair loss is Goto Kola.

A very popular herb known to curb hair loss in men and also control male pattern baldness. Also known to help people with alopecea, this herb is available in its natural form and as a pill. It is also used for blood purification and increase memory power of a person, but must be taken after Doctor's consultation only.

Goto Kola is very effective for age-related hair loss and male pattern baldness. It is believed that Goto Kola is the well-kept secrets of Chinese centenarians who have gone past their 100th birthday still enjoy the full lock of their hair.

But more than treating hair loss, Goto Kola is also effective for memory problems, anxiety, insomnia, edema, and high blood pressure. It can also be used to enhance a person's cognitive processes, heal wounds, and promote blood circulation.

Other than Goto Kola, ginseng is also a good treatment for hair loss.

Who hasn't heard of this Chinese medicine, right? Well, Ginseng has been administered for decades now, to cure various ailments, one of which is hair loss. The Siberian Ginseng has strong medicinal powers that helps rejuvenate the scalp and increase blood flow.

This herb must be the most popular one yet this decade. Both Chinese medicine and the Indian Ayurvedic medicine had attested to its effectiveness. It addresses hair loss by directly inhibiting the production of 5 alpha reductase, which is the element that is believed to cause the problem. Ginseng can also inhibit cortisol and work as an adaptogen.

Foti, also referred to as Shien Mien in Chinese medicine, is also a good herbal treatment for hair loss.

Also known as He Shou Wu, this herb is commonly consumed as tea or as medication to help increase hair growth and reduce hair loss.

In fact, it has been used as a hair-growing agent in the past few years already. However, scientific evidences to prove its effectiveness are yet to surface. But with the testimonials of the people who are using it, this herb is definitely worth a try.

But more than the use of Chinese medicine, it has been recently discovered that male pattern baldness can actually be triggered by the food that a person eats. A western diet consisting of dairy products, meat, and fast food items are conducive to hair loss, according to an epidemiological study conducted in Japan eight years ago.

The study also concluded that a macrobiotic diet has a positive effect to hair growth. Such diet consists of grains, fish, and vegetables, including foods that are rich in the 3 fatty acids and 6 fatty acids.

Stress And Hair Loss

Men and women experience baldness or thinning hair in very different ways. Men tend to lose hair in certain areas of the scalp and in many instances men will have "male pattern balding" on top of the head, while hair still grows on the sides and back of the head. Women tend to lose hair more evenly across the scalp causing a thinning appearance.

Male pattern baldness is easiest to explain, it's hereditary and a natural part of aging. If your father or grandfather is bald, then there's probably not much you can do to prevent baldness. Some women experience hair loss after childbirth and sometimes when using some birth control pills. Most people will loose their hair with chemotherapy treatments. Causes of baldness or hair loss can include diet, drug abuse, hormonal imbalances (usually in women), illness, poor hygiene practices, and stress.

Stress can also be a factor that's not often connected with hair loss. Stress can contribute to hair loss. It's rarely the major cause but it ranks near the top of the few known causes. Stress related hair loss usually occurs after a stressful period is over and the original stress may not be easy to connect to a hair loss occurrence. If you're experience sudden hair loss, think back and consider if an event may have happened that stressed you enough to have an affect on your hair. A wise course of action is to consult with your doctor about any unusual medical condition.

Stress related baldness even has a scientific name, (Telogen Effluvium). This can cause large numbers of hair follicles to enter a stage of rest at the same time. Usually the hair follicles will be ejected out of the follicle by the growth of a new hair. This results in a condition of hair shedding that usually corrects itself, but if the stress is ongoing, this type of hair loss can become chronic and may lead to permanent balding.

There are many treatments offered for baldness and thinning hair conditions but, there is very little information on preventing or reversing hair loss caused by stress. If you're experiencing baldness or thinning hair and it seems to be abnormal, it's a good idea to see your doctor to determine the cause. If it is stress related, one of the first things to do is reduce the stress. If you continue to deal with your stress related hair loss the same way you've always been doing, you're going to get the same results.

Here are few things you can do to reduce your level of stress:

1. Eat good meals. A diet rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals is necessary to reduce stress. Eat balanced meals with whole grain breads, dairy and poultry products as well as fish and meat. Increase your fiber intake with leafy green vegetables and fruits in your diet. Avoid added sugars and excessive caffeine.

2. Do something to replace the stress. Physical exercise such as weight training, running or power walking on a regular basis will reduce the level of adrenaline in your body caused by the stress and relax your mind. Your body and mind will be more relaxed, you'll sleep better and your health will improve as a result of physical exercise. Once, when I had a particularly stressful job, I reduced the stress by getting a part-time job sweeping the floor and emptying the trash in a department store. This had the effect of reducing my stress level, gave me a light physical workout and put some extra money in my pocket.

2. Find ways to relax. There are no special techniques needed to relax, but you do need a quiet place where you can keep your body straight, breath deeply and slowly and focus you thoughts on less stressful activities. Exercises such as those taught in a yoga class will help focus your mind and reduce stress levels.

3. Get enough sleep. Adequate and restful sleep is very important in easing stress.

4. Don't give up...Keep at it and you'll notice a welcome change in your lifestyle after you start reducing your stress level. Doing the three things listed above will help you stay in good shape and reduce your stress. If your hair loss is caused by stress, this will solve your sudden hair loss problems.

Oily Hair Remedies

Oily hair affects a lot of people, and there are a number of hair care products on the market for this condition. Unfortunately, many of these shampoos tend to treat this condition with ingredients that have a high detergent content. This puts the sebacious glands into overdrive, and makes the problem even worse.

There are several factors that could be causing the sebacious glands to create excessive oil, including hormones, genetics, puberty, and menopause. What I suggest is that you take a two prong approach to the problem. Start on the inside, by taking a daily Apple Cider tablet, available at health food stores. Try eating a diet that contains more acidic fruits. This will help as well. While creating an internal balance, you need to treat the external problem using a shampoo and creme rinse that is free of detergents and Sodium Lauryl Sulphates.

Chalet's Shampoo and creme rinse all have a Natural Apple Cider in them, along with a Rosemary tea. Both of these ingredients are excellent for your dilema. They also have Citric acid, which is a natural astringent. All of Chalet's products are made from all vegetable or citric derived ingredients, which makes them very concentrated and pure. I assure you they have no detergents, SLS products, or chemicals of any kind.

Once you get on a schedule, I am sure that you will be very suprised at the body, bounce, shine, and health of you hair.

Start with a natural, gentle shampoo like the one at Chalet. Do not scrub your scalp. Vigorous scrubbing will activate the sebacious glands. Massage it gently until it reaches a rich lather, and leave it on the scalp for 5 minutes. Since there are no detergents in Chalet products, there is no need to worry about how long the shampoo is contacting the scalp. Rinse well after 5 minutes. Apply a very Small amount of Chalet Creme Rinse, and very gently pull through the ends of your hair. Keep it away from the scalp, and rinse well. Blot excess water from the hair when drying, always keeping in mind that any vigorous action on the scalp will send a signal to the sebacious glands to work. This goes for combing and brushing as well. Stay away from blowdryers completely, as well as any styling products that contain alcohol.

Shampoo every second day to start, moving up to every third day after the first two weeks. You really shouldn't have to wash your hair more than twice a week to maintain clean, healthy hair. If your scalp feels oily while you are adapting to this routine, dab some Witch Hazel to the roots with a cotton pad. I Hope this information helps. If the current approach to your excess oil problem isn't helping, give this program a try. There are many articles on my website concerning skin care and hair care. I hope you enjoy them!

Hairstyles That Lift and Camoulflage for Women Over 50

There are many hairstyle choices for women over 50 and you are only limited by a hairstyle that fits your face, color, personality, hair texture and lifestyle. With the right hairstyle, you can appear as dazzling as ever and look miraculously younger.

Here are four common problems facing women over 50 and hairstyle ideas to help you look your best.

Fine and Thinning Hair

Dry and limp hair is likely the most common problem for women 50 and above. A short hairstyle is most often considered better for women with thinning hair, as a short hairstyle tends to divert attention from the hair to the face. Fine and thin hair looks better when cut in a short bob with side swept bangs of interest. This type of hairstyle is also excellent for camouflaging a wrinkled or high forehead. And if your pressed for time a short bob only needs some gentle blow-drying after shampooing.

Expression Lines and Dropping Jaw Line

Most women want to style their hair close to their face in an attempt to hide a softening jaw line or frown lines around the eyes. However styling the hair slightly shorter around the face in layers than in back, can actually soften your facial features. Styling the layers up and away from her your face with a round brush will also add instant lift to a drooping jaw line.

Aging Neck Line

Losing that firm skin around the neckline can be frustrating not to mention it ads years to your appearance. However you can style your hair in a way to divert attention from your neckline and accentuate your best features like your sparkling eyes or high cheek bones. By keeping your hair length around the ears and in back you can soften your neck and shoulder areas. This type of style also works to shorten a long neckline as well.

Pale Skin Tone and Discoloration

Its well known that skin tone influences your hairstyle and color choice. Women over 50 tend to chop their hair and then color it dark so that the gray hair is camouflaged. You can simply avoid this by highlighting your hair, as it will deceptively cover the age.

In general women over 50 should preferably use light hair colors unless you have a pale complexion. For a pale complexion opt for brunette shades instead, as this makes you appear more youthful.

Those with olive or dark complexions are the luckiest, as they have a variety of hair colors to choose from. They look good in most colors including brown, burgundy and blond. A proper hair color should highlight your skin tone bring it alive and glowing. On the other hand, if you have made the wrong choice you will probably look tired and washed out.

Aging is inescapable; however, it does not limit your sense of beauty and your instinct to earn recognition. You can look beautiful at all ages. With this being the spirit, you can always find a perfect hairstyle for you to look your best. To help you decide on the best hairstyle, you can also use some software programs to save yourself some unnecessary drama and try out different hairstyles on a current photo of yourself.

Hair Loss - Onion as a Hair Loss Remedy Being Used Today

Onion as a remedy for hair loss is a type of old herbal folk medicine that is still being used today. In fact, onion juice is an ingredient in several topical hair growth lotions currently on the market. Our early ancestors valued onions for it's medicinal properties. During the Middle Ages when our medicines came from nature, physicians prescribed onions for many purposes such as headache, earache, snakebite and to combat hair loss. Patients experiencing hair loss were advised to cut a raw onion in half and rub it on scalp, or to extract the juice by grating the onion finely, then rubbing the juice into the scalp.

Perhaps the reason onion is valued for hair is because of it's high sulphur content. Sulphur is known as the "beauty mineral." Sulphur is necessary for formation of collagen and for the maintenance of the skin, hair, and nails. Dry skin, brittle hair, hair loss and weak nails could be a sign of sulfur deficiency.

A study from Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Iraq, tested the effectiveness of topical crude onion juice in the treatment of alopecia areata. The group using the onion juice had success in 73% of persons tested in comparison to 13% of the group using tap water. This study was published in the Journal of Dermatology, June 2002.

Several varieties of the original treatment are as follows:

Add small pieces of a medium sized onion to a cup of rum. Leave for 24 hours. Remove the onion pieces and massage your scalp with the rum.

Place ½ cup chopped onion and ½ cup dried nettle in a container. Add vodka to cover. After a few days strain liquid and apply to scalp.

Combine ¼ onion juice with one TBS honey. Massage into scalp daily.

The following recipe is from Heinerman's Encyclopedia of Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs (Parker 1988) It uses onion skins to make a hair rinse. This recipe claims to make your hair super shiny and soft and to enhance color.

Collect clean dry golden or brown onionskins in a brown paper bag until you have 2 ½ cups lightly packed. Steep the skins in 1 quart of boiled water for 50 minutes. After washing hair, briefly towel dry and rinse several times with onionskin mixture, then rinse with plain water.

Onion is still being used today for many medicinal purposes, including hair loss. It's antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, circulatory and anti-oxidant properties make it a highly valued food source that can be used both internally and externally for healing purposes.

Adding onion to the diet will help supply hair with many important nutrients, health producing phytochemicals and antioxidants.

Best Hair Loss Cure

In this article you'll learn about the best hair loss cure available, and it's not what you'd expect...

We all know that the hormone DHT is the big BAD guy in the hair loss saga. He's the one that actually DIRECTLY kills your hair follicles, thus causing baldness. But, sometimes he only neutralizes your follicles, meaning if you stop him, you can regrow your hair. But we're getting ahead of ourselves already...

Yes, DHT is the bad guy. But something has to create DHT right? Shout out what you think produces DHT...

I bet if you said anything, it was "TESTOSTERONE". If so, you were wrong. It is not testosterone that causes hair loss. Sorry, but that is a myth. Nope, DHT is produced from Estrogen. Not many hairloss sufferers realize that, and the ones that do, don't suffer for much longer.

Reduce the TOXIC levels of estrogen in your body, and you can cut the source of your DHT. That will stop your balding, and is by far the best hair loss cure available. There is a lot more to learn about the cause of hair loss, but for now let's get into how to reduce estrogen levels...

This is going to be short and sweet: 3 steps to reduce your estrogen, DHT and balding...

1. Toxins in the environment CONVERT into estrogen. Because of the excessive amounts of toxins and poisons in our environment (food, water and pollution) the liver can't COPE, and so these toxins by-pass the liver and convert into estrogen. To solve this problem you can either live like a saint in the countryside and eat nothing but organic food. Or you can IMPROVE your liver by using a liver cleansing product. I recommend the latter. There are many good quality liver cleansing products on the market, and you should use one for a few months.

2. Cut out estrogen forming foods from your diet. This includes soy, soyabean and flax. Don't take flaxseed oil supplements either. These estrogen foods and supplements only speed up hair loss.

3. Remove the DHT from your scalp. Until you do this you will continue to suffer from hair loss. To remove your DHT use a DHT Removing Agent. There are many, many expensive ones on the market, but the truth is you can make one at home for a fraction of the cost...

These three steps are vital for stopping your hairloss and will do so if you start before it's too late. Find out more about the cause of hair loss.

Home Remedies for Hair Loss - Regrow your Hair Tips

Hair loss as it is commonly understood is losing the hairs from the head. Medically, the hair loss refers to the baldness or alopecia. This is losing the hairs from the scalp in abundant quantity. Generally, losing 50-100 hairs per day can be considered as a normal physiological procedure as all those hairs can be replaced with new growing hairs. Hair loss becomes significant when one starts losing more than that figure of hairs a day.

Hair loss could be due to many reasons, hereditary, being number one. Other causes include certain drugs, hormonal changes, pregnancy, therapies (like chemotherapy), salty water (for bathing and for drinking), makeup and dandruff. Men are more suffering from hair loss as compared to females. Baldness will be in men and not in female due to genetic reasons.

Home remedies for hair loss

• The Indian gooseberry has been showing great results. For this, oil containing Indian gooseberry will be great to use.

• Lettuce is another great home remedy for treating hair loss. A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is considered to help the growth of hair if taken up to ½ liter a day.

• Another is Amaranth. Its fresh leaves juice should be applied to the hair and this can help growing new hairs.

• An application of coconut milk over the scalp will be helpful treating hair loss. You can take coconut milk and then massage it into the hair roots. It nourishes the hair and promotes the hair growth.

• The most valuable home remedy is using seeds of lime and black pepper. Ground it together and then make it into fine paste. Use this paste as an application on the patches. This might irritate but simultaneously it stimulates the hair growth and promotes the hair follicles to grow firm hairs.

• The leaves of the tree margosa will be useful. It should be used as a decoction. This will stop hair from falling and will stabilize them into their roots. It also kills the hair lice.

• Another remedy for hair loss is using the paste of liquorice. It can be made by grinding the liquorice pieces in the milk with a pinch of saffron. The paste should be applied over the bald patches at night before retiring to the bed. This works wonderfully for treating alopecia condition.

• Onions have also been found beneficial patchy baldness along with hair falling condition. The affected part must be rubbed with onions in the morning and evening. The juice of onion is stimulant to the hair follicles and hence will prevent falling too.

• A fine paste made form pigeon pea or red gram is also considered good. Use this for longer period for maximum benefit.

• One of the proven ones is rubbing olive oil onto the scalp and affected area.

Secrets To Preventing Hair Loss

Being bald is not something people welcome. Unfortunately, the hair loss condition is very much a reality for most people today. The good thing about it, though, is that anyone can do something in preventing hair loss.

Knowing Your Hair Loss

Hair loss usually stem from the same causes. The most common type of hair loss is actually caused by genes and hormones. This is not the only type of hair loss though. These days, you can also lose your worries over stress, nutrient deficiency and tight hairstyles. The first step to preventing hair loss is to know exactly why your hair is falling. Once you know the cause, you can find the right treatment.

Diet and Exercise

Dieting and exercising may not do much if your condition is genetic or hereditary. They can however, help in preventing hair loss due to nutrient deficiency. It is a known fact that the kinds of popular food available these days are loaded with fats and carry few nutrients. It is also a fact that having less of some nutrients like iron, magnesium, zinc and B complex vitamins can cause hair fall. The best solution to this is to eat a nutritious diet. Exercising regularly will also improve your blood circulation which is crucial for the efficient distribution of nutrients to your hair.

Relaxation

Telogen effluvium is a type of hair loss in which a person suddenly suffers from temporary but profuse hair shedding. It is believed that one possible cause of this is stress. Preventing hair loss of this type may mean that you have to learn how to relax. Of course, what is relaxing for some may not be so for others. Generally though, basic relaxation techniques are also methods for preventing hair loss. You can learn basic breathing techniques or progressive muscle relaxation. Others may want to move on to higher meditation or yoga. Sometimes, a simple break from work or listening to soothing music may already be relaxing enough.

Letting Your Hair Rest

You might also lose some of your hair if you are too fond of tight hair styles like braids, pony tails and corn rolls. These hair styles can literally pull your hair strands out and may even cause scarring. Preventing hair loss of this kind is easy. You simply have to alternate your hair styles or avoid tight styles altogether.

Styling and coloring may not really cause hair loss. It is still better though not to overdo hair treatments. Using too many chemicals on your hair could cause dryness and damage. Preventing hair loss and damage simply means letting your hair rest.

Supplements

Taking hair loss supplements would also help in preventing hair loss. Good products can help provide you with whatever nutrient your body is missing. Some supplements also contain natural DHT blockers for individuals who have hair loss due to the action of DHT.

Hair loss prevention may not be as difficult as you think. You simply have to learn to be gentle to your hair and yourself. A clean, natural, stress free lifestyle is the right way to decrease hair loss.

Hair Loss - Why You Have Hair Loss as You Age

As you know, most of you at some point will start experiencing hair loss. There are some of you that became bald in your twenties or thirties. But most you, you will lose your hair gradually and then one day you will notice your hair thinning in one area. This occurs because as you age your health deteriorates.

Poor health

There are quite a few areas that are related to hair loss. But in general they are all tied together in a fine puzzle. The major reason for this loss that I discovered was poor health, both physical and psychological. When you are in poor health, you will exhibit numerous symptoms and one that becomes obvious is hair thinning.

The extreme poor health condition is when people are subjected to chemotherapy. All of the body systems are poisoned creating massive poor health. All hair is lost.

Your endocrine system

Hair loss relates to your body's endocrine system. It is these organs, thyroid, adrenal, thymus, and pancreas that control the function of your body's health by the hormones they release. One hormone that controls hair loss and hair growth is testosterone.

Testosterone

Testosterone is frequently converted to a substance call DHT by a specific enzyme. It is DHT that affects hair growth by disturbing your hair's follicle and destroying it. When the endocrine organs fail to control testosterone there is an excess, much of this excess is converted to DHT.

Women also have testosterone but this is balanced by the high level of estrogen that they have. But when the estrogen balance is upset, women will see hair loss because of more testosterone in their blood.

Diet

The food you eat also determines how much testosterone is created in your body. It is important to eat a special type of natural diet to maintain healthy organs that can keep a hormonal balance in your body, so that you have good body health.

When you are not in the best of health and use various types of medication, your hormones are out of balance and your body is in need of nutritional help. It is the vitamins and minerals that help the body rebalance it self, but it is best that these nutrients come from raw food. This is why a colon and blood cleanse is important to do to give your body some help in providing nutrients and giving it a rest from processing heavy foods.

Stress

Then there is stress. This is a real hair killer. Stress uses up a lot of your vitamins and minerals. Your body protects you from stress by releasing cortisone and by adjusting your hormone levels to an un-natural condition. Stress creates an imbalance in your hormones and now your hair loss increases and your health starts to deteriorate.

The one thing I realized as I researched why I experience hair loss 15 years ago is that if you seek to improve your health in a natural way, your health gets better and your hair loss stops and maybe you may even grow some hair back.

Bio: Rudy Silva, natural nutritionist, has just introduced his new hair loss e-book call "New Hair Loss Treatments." Female Hair Loss

Most people are aware that men suffer from hair loss. However, many people do not know that women suffer from hair loss also. This is probably because there is a stigma attached to women losing their hair. However, women do lose their hair. There are many reasons that may make women lose their hair including hormones, stress, and medication.

Hormones are responsible for regulating many important bodily functions. They regulate a woman's menstrual cycle, blood insulin levels, even her body temperature. Hair loss is one result of a woman's hormones being out of sync. When the delicate balance of male and female sex hormones is upset, the hair may start to thin or fall out. It is not unusual for pregnant and menopausal women or adolescent girls to find a good bit of hair going down the bathtub drain. If your hair loss is due to an imbalance of hormone levels, your doctor can remedy the problem. Hormone replacement therapy can provide immediate relief to menopausal women seeking thicker, healthier hair.

Women who are pregnant cannot for obvious reasons receive hormones or other medications designed to treat hormonal imbalances. They can, however, take comfort in the realization that within several months after delivery, their hormones will begin to regulate automatically. Then, hair growth will return to the same status as before the pregnancy occurred. Adolescents who experience significant hair changes as a result of puberty often experience relief with contraceptives containing low doses of hormones. Such options, however, should be explored fully with a physician to determine whether hormonal contraception is a good option for the female considering it.

Stress is a leading cause of hair loss in women. If you think that your hair loss is due to stress, you need to figure out a way to cut stress from your life. Find someone you can talk to about the things in your life that are stressful. Many women find that exercise is an excellent way for them to blow off steam instead of internalizing the stress of their everyday lives. You might even consider making lifestyle changes such as moving or finding a new job, if you think that would help alleviate stress.

If you find yourself losing hair after beginning a new medication, schedule a visit with your doctor at once. It is quite likely that another medication can be used to treat your condition. Although hair loss is not a common side effect of medications, some drugs do have the potential to cause this to occur.

Top Hair Loss Reasons Exposed

Today there are several different hair loss reasons for why one person may suffer from this particular medical condition and another will not. You will find that this is not only a male problem but also one that women are just as likely to suffer from as well. Below we will look at some of the more common reasons, which may result in a person losing their hair no matter what age they may be.

As mentioned previously hair loss has been thought of as a problem that men only have to deal with. Yet today it is just as common for some women to deal with the issue as well. In fact in the United States alone around 30 million women are now suffering from some form of hair loss.

Even though the problem of hair loss has been around for centuries, today many medical experts and professionals cannot actually decide just what the main causes for this problem is. Below however we do look at some of the more common factors, which will often contribute to hair loss.

1. Heredity - This is the most common reason for why a person is actually losing their hair. In fact, around half of all children who have a parent that suffers from this type of condition are also likely to suffer from the same condition as well.

Yet even though many people think that this can only happen to men then they need to rethink this. You will find that pattern baldness is very common in men and women. There are plenty of women who currently suffer from Androgenetic Alopecia. The reason for this being that a woman is just as likely to carry the gene that causes this medical condition as a man and then transmit it on to their child.

2. Medical Treatments - Today there are a wide range of drugs, medications and treatments for cancer (such as chemotherapy), which can cause a person to lose their hair. Although a person may lose their hair often, it is only temporary and once treatment stops, normally after a period of time, the hair will start to regrow once more.

3. Hormone Levels - For some people the reason they have begun to lose their hair is that their hormone levels have become imbalanced. This is especially a problem that women have to deal with because their bodies are producing far more androgen hormones rather than estrogen ones, thus the excess hormones impede the new hair from growing.

In this article, we have looked at three main hair loss reasons, which can cause a person to suffer from this type of medical condition. You will find that along with these, there are others, which can be responsible for why a person has begun to lose their hair.

Hair Transplant Surgery - Consider The Side Effects

Hair transplants have become a popular method of dealing with hair loss. For many people, losing their hair can mess with someone's self esteem. Transplants offer a quick and easy way of treating hair loss. However it's important to consider all the side effects, before rushing into this costly and irreversible procedure.

Swelling in the scalp, forehead and eyes is one of the most common side effects. Although it only last a couple of days, it can still be a concern. Your doctor should be able to give you medication to help. Skin moisturizers can help also. Itching can be relieved by shampoo the scalp. Spray water from a bottle is also a great tip!

A small percentage of people (5%) experience hiccoughs after hair transplants. It's not known why this happens. While hiccoughs aren't a serious side effect, then can be a minor annoyance. Not only can sleep patterns be disturbed, but they can annoy others who you live or work with. They usually go away after a few days.

Infections can be one of the most severe side effects of getting a hair transplant. It's importance to note that these are extremely rare; however they have been known to happen. Taking the prescribed antibiotics before and after the surgery will greatly diminish your chances of getting an infection.

No matter what type of hair transplant you're getting, it's important to understand all the side effects. Make sure you consult your doctor, both before and after the surgery so he can advise you on your best course of action. Hair transplants can be a safe and easy way of dealing with hair loss, as long as you do it safely.

Understanding Hair Loss and Hair Regrowth Formulas

Throughout the years, hair loss has been quite an issue for men. Some will try everything in order to get their hair back. In fact, some even get wigs just to cover their balding spot. Today, science has found a way for men to effectively grow their hair back.

First of all, you may want to understand what causes hair loss in order for you to know what kind of hair regrowth products to purchase. In the past, hair loss has been linked to aging. Although this is true, you have to consider that there are younger males who suffer from hair loss as well. Although it isn't a life threatening condition, hair loss can be quite embarrassing for most men as it will make them look older.

Studies have found that hair loss is mainly caused by genetic factors and hormonal changes. So, if your father suffers from hair loss, it is very likely that you too will suffer from the same condition. You also have to remember that taking hormonal drugs as well as aging can alter your hormone levels, which means that it can also cause hair loss. It has been found that the hormonal byproduct called DHT can eventually cause hair loss. This means that the more DHT gets inside your body, the thinner the hair follicles will get up until it gets wasted permanently.

Although DHT is required in the male's body in order for your body to develop early in life, recent studies have found that as men get older, the amount of DHT will increase. What this means is that as you grow older, you will be more prone to hair loss.

In order to stop hair loss, you will want to get a product that can nourish the hair follicles. The hair regrowth product should be able to have an active ingredient that will be able to block DHT from getting in your body. You need to remember that in order to have a strong and sound hair, proper nutrition in your scalp should be implemented and this is how hair growth formula works.

In most hair growth formulas the active ingredient is the water soluble vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 performs a lot of function in your body which will include nourishing the scalp and the hair follicles. The more vitamin B6 you have in your body, the healthier your hair will get.

One section of vitamin B that can help in growing hair is biotin. Biotin is a natural hair food that will help in nourishing your scalp and hair as well as your nails.

Another essential mineral that you should get is Magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral that will be able to promote hair expansion. It plays a crucial role in protein synthesis and energy metabolism.

Zinc is also essential in order for you to have a sound and strong hair. With Zinc, you will see that it will be able to nourish your scalp and promote hair growth.

So, now that you know what are the essential nutrients in order for you to grow your hair back, you will know what foods you need to eat and also what hair regrowth products you need to purchase. With this knowledge, you will be able to help in regrowing your hair more effectively and in a much shorter time.

Hair Loss Caused by Immunizations

Anyone who has a health concern after receiving vaccinations can file a report with Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS.) There have been at least 60 reported cases of hair loss occurring after routine vaccines. There may be many other unreported cases; as many persons are not aware of the reporting system (VAERS), or they may not relate the hair loss to the vaccine.

Forty-six of the 60 cases that had been reported from 1983-1995 were associate the Hepatitis B vaccination. Eighty three percent of the complaints involved female patients. In most cases the hair loss occurred within one month after receiving the vaccine. Sixteen of these cases noted severe and extensive hair loss affecting over half the scalp or body hair.

One case involved a 56 year old woman who developed extensive hair loss weeks after receiving the influenza virus vaccine. The same woman had similar but less severe symptoms after a prior influenza virus vaccine the previous year.

A more recent documented case involved the anthrax vaccine administered to military personnel. Sudden and severe hair loss occurred weeks after his fifth dose of the vaccination. Toxicology reports attributed this person's hair loss to the vaccination and suggested that it was not an isolated case.

Zinc gluconate was used successfully to restore this person's hair. Studies indicate that vaccinations may deplete zinc and other minerals, which could explain why zinc supplementation reversed the effects.

Immunizations may be indirectly associated with many other cases of hair loss as vaccines have also been associated with the onset of autoimmune disorders and other disorders in which hair loss is a symptom.

Hair is very sensitive to any changes or disturbances within the body. Even a slight upset to the system can disrupt the hair growth cycle. A vaccination may be viewed by the body as a foreign substance that the body must figure out how deal with. If adjustment does not occur quickly, it is possible that hair loss may result.

Certain people may be more prone to adverse affects of vaccinations. This includes those with compromised immune systems, autoimmune disorders or persons who are ill at the time the vaccination is administered. If any side effects are noticed after receiving an immunization, it should be reported.

Quite a few of today’s methods have been adapted from African-American stylists that weave human or synthetic hair into corn rows for a long, flowing and natural look. "Bald heads are fashionable now, have been for quite a while" says Lewis, a Master Barber and owner of a well known barbershop in Atlanta, GA. Lewis grooms shaved heads of well-known entertainers that are in the music industry & comedy circle that come from all over the country to perform in local night clubs in the area near his shop.

Lewis specializes in Grooming The Bald Head Man goes on to say "I steam towel their bald head before shaving and after shaving their head. Then, I put on their head the best product available Bald & Beautiful Moisturizing Skin Care Oil, which I get off the website www.baldproducts.com. The special aromatherapy formula has all natural ingredients, which helps replace the natural oils lost in the scalp that is a natural protection due to constantly shaving the head. Also, the product helps reduce sweat and gives the head a nice glow. Some Barbers use Coco Butter after shaving a bald head. They say their customers think it's going to even tone the skin, but actually they are clogging their pores. My customers love the feel of their head after I finish my natural treatment on their head. Also, their Women Love it too! One of my customers was telling me about how his woman loves to rub his head while they are making love. Wow!"

Many men with shaved heads ask the question, "how can I maintain my own head given it that clean shaving look, I don't have the time to go regular to the barbershop nor do I want to use clippers daily or every other day?"

Having a clean shaven head is high maintenance if you don't know how to deal with it. There is a razorless hair-removing cream called SoftSheen-Carson Magic. It is designed for different grades of hair. If you have fine or straight hair use mild instead of regular, then leave it on your head half the time the directions says. For more course hair you can use the regular and then go by the direction.

If you don't necessary have a need for the clean shaven look, go with the bald fade. You should only have to cut your hair once a week.

I am in the most popular city for the chrome dome. According to Men's Magazine Atlanta, Georgia has more Bald Men per capital than any of 101 cities surveyed. We head the rest of the nation when it comes to bald heads!

Holistic Hair Loss Remedy Suggestions

Most importantly it should be noted that this information is not intended for treatment or diagnosis of your hair loss condition. Neither is it meant to replace professional medical treatment. You should share this with your physician and together decide what your best options are.

Facts about Hair Loss

There is no absolute way to ward off impending hair loss. There are treatments that are effective for some people but not for everyone. It is wise to research treatments and bring your information to share with your physician. Together, the best options for your needs can be chosen. You might have to try a couple of hair loss remedies before you find the most effective one.

Hair loss is caused by heredity, illness, trauma and stress. Some medications such as those used in chemotherapy & radiation treatments. Typically, once the medicine is stopped, you will see hair growth over time. The texture and color of your hair may be different.

Typical treatments include topical lotions or creams, oral medications, and/or natural treatments. There are holistic hair loss remedies available as well. These include using herbs and herbal extracts.

Holistic Treatments

The philosophy behind holistic medicine is that the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) be treated. Holistic treatments are intended to bring about general good health including the part being treated. It tries to restore nature's balance.

Massage is a great way to calm tension. This is no less true for massaging the scalp. This will help to increase blood flow to the follicles and could generate new hair growth in very mild cases. It can be done manually or with electric massagers that have scalp attachments

Herbal extracts such as Saw Palmetto and Nettle Root are used for hair loss as well. Saw Palmetto benefits the prostate and hair in men. Women who use birth control or who are on hormone replacement therapy should not use it. It helps to lower the levels of DHT-dihydrotestosterone. It is a male hormone related to Androgenic, also known as androgenetic Alopecia. Nettle Root extracts has vitamins A and C. It also has other beneficial minerals and lipids.

Rosemary and Sage work well when used externally. Boil Rosemary, Sage, Peach Leaf, nettle and burdock in water. Remove the herbs and use the "broth" to wash your hair with daily.

If you have such skin conditions as Seborrhea, Psoriasis, Eczema or Dandruff Jojoba Oil may be beneficial to you. Southwestern Native Americans and Mexicans have used it for centuries. It's is used for hair growth and controlling dandruff. It is great for sensitive skin because it is very similar to the scalps own sebum.

Aloe Vera has been used by many cultures to support healthy hair and stop hair loss. Aloe helps to balance the pH in the scalp and cleans out the pores. Mixing Aloe Vera gel with a little bit of wheat germ oil and coconut milk is often used as a shampoo and it is effective.

Exercise - yes even healthy hair can benefit from exercise. The blood flow and the oxygenation of the body's cells are improved. It can also help alleviate digestion problems. These can all affect the health of your hair.

Conclusion

Holistic hair loss remedy suggestions include herbal extracts, boiled herbs and Aloe Vera (a botanical). While these do benefit your hair, they may benefit your over-all health. You should always check with your doctor before adding anything to your health regimen, even if it's natural. Some herbs can affect the performance of prescriptions you may be taking.

Consultation with your doctor will help you to decide if holistic treatments will be an option for you.

Stage 1 of Hair Loss

Some people notice their hair is starting to fall out when they're barely out of their teens. While for other people it doesn't happen till their in their 40's or even later in life. Hair loss can affect anyone and everyone. Any age, size, race, nationality even gender can be affected by hair loss. It's usually men that notice their hair is falling out due to natural causes though. In the case of women hair loss is more often than not a symptom from something else. I won't get in to that here. I would assume that if your reading this your experiencing some hair loss. There are different stages of hair loss. Let's talk about the first stage.

The first thing that you notice is that the hair on the side of your temples doesn't seem to come as far forward as it used to. It's hardly noticeable really, and because you see yourself every day when you look in the mirror it can take quite a while before you notice it.

When you do finally notice it though you can't see anything else but that when you see yourself in the mirror. It's like those magic eye pictures, you can spend hours looking at them and see nothing but then when you do see the picture you can't see anything else but that picture from then on! It's the same with your hairline. When it starts reseeding your eyes are drawn to that bald patch (no matter how small it is) every time you see yourself.

Other people probably don't even notice it, but you know it's there and you know it will get worse! This is were something funny happens. You know your hair is falling out and you know it will keep falling out but some how you manage to dismiss it! "It's only temporary, it'll grow back" and "it's stopped falling out now" are some of the things you say to yourself. No man wants to accept that they're on the way to loosing most of their hair. Sometimes you'll think of checking out ways to prevent any more hair from dropping out. That's as far as it goes though. You think about way to prevent it but never actually do anything about preventing it.

Stage 1 of hair loss is nearly always about denial! I defy anyone who didn't worry even a little when they notice their hairline reseeding! It's easier to deny what's happening to you rather than to face up to it and do something about it. It's human nature to try and make things easy for yourself. The best way to do that is to deny it's happening at all.

If your experiencing the first stage of hair loss and your hair line isn't where it used to be go to http://www.regrow-your-hair.net for information and help on how to prevent your hair loss from going any further. It's not hard to keep a hold of your hair. You just need to know how to do it.

Hair Loss And Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease that strikes more and more people every day. Most people do not realize that thinning of the hair or baldness is one of the early symptoms of diabetes. With early detection and treatment, hair loss as well as other complications can be avoided. There are many factors leading to the development of diabetes, including stress. Diabetes affects the body on every level and can cause excessive anxiety which is a well known contributor to balding.

Diabetes occurs when the body is unable to produce enough insulin to help the body metabolize carbohydrate. One issue face by individuals with diabetes is the increased potential for problems with their skin. This is due to poor blood circulation and elevated blood sugar levels. They are more susceptible bruising and injuries that are difficult to heal. The recovery rate for diabetics tends to be slow including hair re-growth. This in turn leads to a noticeable reduction in hair. In addition, diabetics are susceptible bacterial and fungal infections of the scalp which can promote hair loss as well.

Type 1 diabetes is classified as an autoimmune disease and often creates small bald patches on the scalp. This condition is called alopecia areata. It is often accompanied with other health issues including dysfunctional thyroid, a skin condition know as vitiligo which is characterized by the loss of pigment on large patches of skin most commonly on the hands, face and genitalia. Pernicious anemia is also a potential issue for people with diabetes. This is a condition in which the lining of the stomach no longer secretes enough enzymes to allow sufficient absorption of the
